School funding equity measures how fairly educational resources are distributed across districts. Equitable funding means districts with higher poverty rates receive proportionally more resources, funding doesn't depend solely on local property taxes, and student-teacher ratios are reasonable.

Which school districts have the most equitable funding?

Based on our equity score analysis of 500 major school districts, the most equitable districts tend to have diverse funding sources, above-average per-pupil spending especially in high-poverty areas, and lower student-teacher ratios.
