Data & editorial changelog
A dated record of material changes to PlainSchools data presentation, methodology, and editorial framing. Entries are verified against git commits and ETL _metadata only; we do not invent backfilled history.
How this record works
We add an entry when a material correction, source-handling change, or methodology revision reaches the public site. We do not backfill an entry without a corroborating commit or metadata stamp. To report a possible error, include the page URL, the figure in question, and an official source via data corrections. Policy detail lives on the corrections process and methodology pages.

Restored Urban Institute finance source honesty
The ETL freshness gate had been reading a missing urban-raw file as if it were declared. Urban Institute per-FIPS finance inputs were restored, edfacts absenteeism seeding was made reproducible, and --sources now fails closed when a declared input is absent (portal commit 4cb67c0).

Published the /data open-data catalog hub
A citeable /data catalog now lists downloadable state extracts with Dataset schema and CiteThis blocks. The static sitemap no longer emitted an [object Object] first location (portal commit 2441782).

Applied a consistency repair pass across the local DB
A consistency stage wrote lastConsistencyFix=2026-07-13 14:19:26 into portal _metadata after repairing cross-table integrity issues. No upstream NCES vintage changed that day; this was a publisher-side repair.

Recorded a data-fix refresh stamp
Portal _metadata last_data_fix was set to 2026-06-30T05-00-15 after a refresh of loaded federal extracts. Page-level as-of labels continue to follow each source survey year, not this stamp alone.

Upgraded district per-pupil expenditure to current F-33
The district-ppe-f33-current upgrade landed (last_upgrade and fix:district-ppe-f33-current both 2026-06-10T04:41:40Z in _metadata), aligning district spending figures with the published F-33 current extract.

What is not a changelog entry
Routine rendering, an agency's ordinary data availability, or an unverified reader report is not treated as a correction. Pages continue to show their own source scope and data window; use those labels with this record when interpreting a number.
