How the saved-schools list works
When you tap Save school on a school profile, PlainSchools stores that school's name and a link to its profile in your browser's local storage. This page reads that list and shows it back to you. Because the list lives on your device, it is private to you, it works without signing in, and it stays even if you close the tab and come back later on the same browser.
Why keep a shortlist
Choosing a school usually means weighing several options over days or weeks. A shortlist lets you gather the schools you are considering in one place as you read each profile, then return to compare their enrollment, class size, economic-need, and program data side by side. Pair this list with the school comparison tool to put your saved schools head to head. Tap Export CSV to download your shortlist as a spreadsheet you can open, share with family, or print to bring to a school visit.
A note on privacy
Your saved list never leaves your browser and is not tied to any account or profile. Clearing your browser's site data, or tapping Clear all above, removes it. The list is not synced across devices, so a school saved on your phone will not appear on your laptop.
